Spring
Our log cabins sit near the mouth of Platte River, which flows into Big Platte Lake. A friend to Steelhead, Brown, Rainbow and Brook Trout, Platte Lake is a
fisherman's delight. Nearby kayak or canoe rentals provide the opportunity to travel down the Betsie or Platte rivers while taking in the first signs of spring. Another springtime
favorite is the challenging but rewarding morel mushroom hunt.
Summer
Swim, ski, sail, or fish the clean waters of Platte Lake, or simply amble down the Betsie or Platte Rivers by canoe. The nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes are a favorite
destination, or explore some of the less populated hiking trails that hug the Lake Michigan shoreline just minutes away. Golf and tennis are available at several nearby sites, or sample
the local culture at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Gwen Frostic's Art Studio or the Old Town Playhouse. After an amazing resort sunset, top off your day under the stars at the last drive-in
theatre in Northern Michigan.
Fall
Northern Michigan, an area known for its fantastic spray of fall colors, is also prime time for Steelhead, Coho, and King Salmon fishing in the Platte and Betsie
Rivers. An abundance of whitetail deer and small game also make our cabins the ideal hub for the sportsman. If you're just out to relax, a fall afternoon is the perfect time to tour
the many wineries of the Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas, or browse the shops and restaurants of Traverse City, Leland, Frankfort or Glen Arbor.
Winter
Peaceful, quiet and nestled under a blanket of snow, Rustic Resort is a cozy hub for snowmobiling, ice fishing or skiing at nearby facilities like Crystal Mountain.
Savor the snowy view from the warmth of your cabin. Enjoy a fire and settle in with a good book, a movie or the company of good friends and
